About us

Jenn and Sydney met while working together at an outpatient orthopedic practice in Syracuse, NY in 2020. They quickly realized that they shared a passion for teaching and created a mentorship program within the practice for new grads. Through their years mentoring, Jenn and Sydney mentored approximately 15 different mentees with a variety of specialty interests and helped train new mentors to continue to expand the program.

As more mentees worked their way through the program, Jenn and Sydney started to see the limitations of what could be offered within a patient focused practice and they wanted to be able to provide more. Thus the idea for a new business to focus primarily on the needs of clinicians of all skill levels was formed and Physio Advantage Mentorship was born.

Meet Jenn

Jenn went to Ithaca College and graduated in 2014 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has certifications focusing on orthopedics and neurological settings including: American Institute of Balance Vestibular certification, Manual Therapy Certification through Evidence in Motion and Parkinson Wellness Recovery PWR! Moves certification. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, reading, watching sports, horseback riding and traveling.

Jenn’s favorite part about mentoring is watching the transformation where the student becomes the teacher. Watching mentees start to take on clinical students or feel confident jumping into hands on sessions where they start to teach the skills they were previously learning is the most rewarding part.

Meet sydney

Sydney went to Ithaca college and received her bachelors degree in athletic training and doctorate in physical therapy. After graduation she completed an orthopedic residency program. After practicing for several years and helping to develop a new grad mentorship program, she pursued additional certifications in hybrid learning. In addition to treating orthopedic conditions, she also treats male and female pelvic floor conditions and acts as a teaching assistant for Herman and Wallace. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her 3 dogs, playing softball, and cooking.

Sydney’s favorite part about  mentoring is watching the light bulb moment where a technique or concept clicks. She loves seeing mentees be able to put the pieces together and gain confidence in their practice.
